Discover Voice of the Child Reports in Ontario

It provides the parents, mediator, arbitrator or a judge information about the child’s perspective on parenting disputes that affect their interest. Such a report does not offer an opinion about what the child has said but only sets out what the child has voiced.

This report is mostly useful for older children who are able to express themselves and discuss their feelings and wishes. This is not a substitute for a parenting assessment however it is a lot cheaper and faster to obtain this report.

This report can also be described as summary of conversation between the lawyer and the child. Sometimes this is all that is needed to break the “he says, she says” log jam.
